Parasites – what are the threats and how to fight them?

Added:2023-01-11

Parasites – their name comes from Greek. In the original it is the word παράσιτα, meaning pests. As the name itself suggests, they are destructive and cause harm. Parasitology deals with the issue of parasites, i.e. the science that covers issues related to their occurrence, development, spread, as well as the diseases they cause. As the literature on the subject indicates, parasitism is antagonistic and hostile in nature. It involves the use of a representative of one species (the host) by a delegate of another species (the parasite). Additionally, the parasite has a pathogenic effect on the host's body. (Hadaś, Derda, 2014) The statistical data are disturbing because, as we can learn from WHO reports, every third resident of Europe may be a carrier . The situation is even more serious in the United States , where the infection may affect up to 95% of the population . From the group of parasites, two smaller groups can be distinguished, namely a subgroup of external and internal parasites. The first ones include, among others: lice or ticks. The internal ones are represented by species such as pinworms, trichinella, tapeworms and roundworms. Interestingly, the sources of infection can be very different, even our domestic, dewormed animals can become carriers of parasites, so it is worth being vigilant.

The most common species of parasites

Pinworms – these parasites most often occur in children. They tend to spread easily, especially in large groups, so school or kindergarten become an extremely attractive space for them. Pinworms also cause itching , and by scratching you can quickly transfer the eggs under your nails to your mouth, and from there to the digestive system, and the cycle continues.

Lamblia - their existence depends on the level of hygiene, they are also quickly transferred from one child to another. Typically, infection occurs through consumption of unwashed fruit or vegetables. Giardia cause: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (often watery), flatulence, gas, lack of appetite, fatigue, headaches, sleep problems , etc. To prevent Giardia parasitism, remember to wash your hands frequently - especially after visiting the toilet and about cleanliness in the kitchen, in relation to the products consumed (especially vegetables and fruit).

Human roundworm - this type of parasite can also enter the human body through the consumption of unwashed fruit and vegetables - this proves how important it is to wash them! Usually, humans eat roundworm eggs, and then the larvae hatch inside the body, which are extremely dangerous. Human roundworm is a common parasite that can lead to hepatitis, pneumonia or even intestinal obstruction , but also to many other unpleasant and painful ailments .

Tapeworm - or rather tapeworms, due to the fact that there are several types. The most popular ones include armed tapeworm, unarmed tapeworm and echinococcosis. The latter is the most common, while the latter is the most dangerous. The easiest way to become infected with armed and unarmed tapeworms is through raw meat (mainly beef), which may contain tapeworm larvae and blackheads. However, you can become infected with the echinococcosis tapeworm by eating unwashed forest fruits, because the final host of the echinococcosis is not humans at all, but wild, carrion-eating animals. A constant, characteristic feature of tapeworms is the capture of valuable nutrients, which weakens the human body . The hydatid tapeworm causes particular damage because it spreads to other organs and, consequently, can even attack the brain and quickly lead to the death of the host .

Diet and parasites

It may not seem obvious to everyone, but the products we consume may have a positive or negative impact on the results in the fight against parasites. However, you cannot treat a diet as a 100% protector or a remedy for unwanted companions. However, it is worth knowing how to support the body struggling with infection. It is important to significantly eliminate: grains, sugars and carbohydrates from the diet. Giving up dairy products may also help. It is recommended to enrich the contents of your plate with bitter, sour and spicy products because they deter parasites. You should also be careful with meat - it is best to heat-treat it and ensure that its source is verified and safe.

Antiparasitic properties can be found among various types of herbs and vegetables. Herbs with antiparasitic properties include: wormwood, thyme, fennel, turmeric, tansy, cloves, and many others. Vegetables rich in these properties can be represented, among others, by: by garlic, sorrel, beets, celery, or leek .

Is deworming necessary?

There is one correct answer to this question: If you have been diagnosed with parasites, then definitely yes! But if not detected - then the answer is also: Yes! Because tests are not always able to detect parasites, and people (just like animals) should cleanse the body at least twice a year. As already described above, parasites cause many unpleasant and, even worse, harmful ailments. Apart from possibly unbearable headaches or stomach aches, they can cause insomnia, exhaustion, deficiencies, and in extreme cases even lead to death. Therefore, it is not worth underestimating the problem, because it will not disappear on its own, on the contrary, it will deepen over time. Only specific, bold steps will allow you to forget about "companions" that make your life difficult.

Narum and parasites

You might think, what does a brand with probiotics have to do with parasites? And here's a surprise, Narum specialists in cooperation with Narine Academy, as a proposal to support the removal of this problem, have prepared a special protocol for taking products with the Lactobacillus acidophilus Er-2 bacteria strain 317/402 Narine in order to detoxify (cleanse) the body. Narum products are freeze-dried extracts , thanks to which their action is many times stronger and more effective . The freeze-drying process allows you to retain up to 95% of the active substances , which speaks for itself.

The suggested set consists of two products - OFFtoxic and Detox

OFFtoxic in the form of capsules is a composition of tansy extract, clove extract and metabolites of Lactobacillus acidophilus Er-2 strain 317/402 Narine. Tansy contained in the Narum OFFToxic product has a positive effect on the digestive system. It supports the secretion of digestive juices and tones the muscles of the digestive tract.

Common tansy is an inconspicuous plant that grows along roads and borders and has many health-promoting and caring properties. In folk medicine, tansy was traditionally used for digestive system problems. It is also believed to have antiparasitic, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Its strong antiviral effect supports the fight against herpes and protects against viral infections.

Cloves are a spice that enriches the taste of dishes, but also has a beneficial effect on health and well-being. First of all, they have a broad analgesic, anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect; they also lower cholesterol levels and support digestion. Due to the eugenol content, cloves also prove to be an effective support in the treatment of some parasitic infections, e.g. giardiasis.

Metabiotic - a metabolic product of the bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus Er-2 strain 317/402 Narine has antiviral and antibacterial properties - confirmed by research.

Taking:

For the first week (7 days): 1 capsule, 2-3 times a day.

For the next 2 weeks (14 days): 1-2 capsules, 2 times a day.

The Detox product from Narum is used to maintain the composition and biological activity of normal intestinal microflora. Garlic supports the functioning of the body during short-term stress. Tea and coriander help in the proper functioning of the heart. Coriander has a positive effect on the nervous system, just like tea, it supports the secretion of water by the kidneys and has a positive effect on fat metabolism and cholesterol levels. Supports the immune system. Mint and Oregano have a positive effect on digestion, and oregano in particular on the functioning of the gallbladder. Like coriander and garlic, oregano has a beneficial effect on the immune system.
